Maglanque to run as mayor



CANDABA --- Former Assistant Secretary Rene Maglanque of the Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC) recently confirmed the rumor about his plan  to run as  mayor of this town come 2013 elections. 

Maglanque has put an end on the speculation of his town mates involving the real score of his political plan this coming elections.

He said, he will definitely run as mayor even if Mayor Jerry Pelayo will be having his son Patrick Pelayo as another mayoralty candidate. 

Maglanque believed that he has already established his political networks in Candaba following three consecutive defeats in the congressional race in the 4th District of Pampanga. 

He said, local leaders in various barangays are already in place as they signified willingness to support his candidacy. 

It can be recalled that Maglanque has already served the people of Candaba as councilor in 1992 and Board Member of Pampanga in 1998.

During the stint of Gloria Macapagal Arroyo as president, he was trusted to occupy a government position as an assistant secretary for Finance and Comptrollership of DOTC.

Three other mayoral wannabes include former councilor Architect Andy Gulapa, businesswoman Eden “Vice Ganda” Gonzales and Engineer Rey “Busog” Sagum.
