CANDABA -- This town Mayor Jerry Pelayo lambasted the asphalt overlay of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Barangy Pulong Palazan amounting to P12-million.
Pelayo questioned the project as it was implemented in a fully concreted and serviceable road of the town.
As this developed, the mayor told DPWH officials to prioritize porjects wherein the safety of the residents and motorists is already at stake. He said, the road in Pulong Palazan is still is good condition.
Pelayo emphasized that he is not against the implemented project of the DPWH, but the department, according to him, should also analyze whether or not the same is badly needed in the community.
He also criticized the road rehabilitation in Barangay Pasig with a total construction cost of P7-million.
Pelayo, meanwhile, suggested that the DPWH should first coordinate with the municipal government before implementing any project in the locality.
