STA. ANA -- Several residents and motorists traversing the damaged Sta. Ana-Magalang provincial road along the portions of Barangay San Roque and San Agustin have urged the provincial government to pay attention with the scoured area as it poises danger to everyone.
According to them, part of the road being complained has already collapsed due to continuing scouring of its basement.
It can be recalled that Sta. Ana-Magalang provincial road's concrete pavement in Barangay San Roque has collapsed by about 20 meters.
Every time heavy rains pour, it continously threaten the said road as the Matubig creek traversing villages here produced strong current and a huge volume of garbage, another resident here lamented
The local and provincial executives earlier initiated sandbagging operations to prevent more damages. However, this has not prevented the continuing deterioration of the road.
In a previous interview with this town Mayor Rommel Concepcion, he said the municipal government on its own cannot rehabilitate Sta. Ana-Magalang provincial road for lack of funds. He said, such falls within the jurisdiction of the provincial government.
