CANDABA - A group of local traders here have asked local officials in this town to provide a 24-hour monitoring on the old public market to prevent any untoward incident affecting their conduct of doing business.
According to Anie Gatbonton, a local trader, in the past, there were instances where adventurous young individuals have forcibly entered market stalls which led to financial losses on the part of the small business owners.
"Sana pu mika bante tanang security guard keni palengke bangkanita ding bisang gawang matsura kareng tindhan apigilan tala.
As this developed, Councilor Narciso Maglanque, in one of the public hearings attended by the local traders promised to them that a security guard will soon be deployed to protect the interest of the traders.
Maglanque lamented that the municipal government through Mayor Jerry Pelayo has approved in principle the idea and they are now working for the budget allocation concerning the salary of the said security guard.
It can be recalled that the local legislative body here wanted to restructure the system of doing business inside the old public market.
In fact, it was proposed that new traders will be obliged to pay P25,000 renewable every other three years with P1,000 as renewal fee.
